Default Panny BD30 Upscaling Improvement

I own a Panny BD30 Since the 1st week they came last year and I was a little let down by the upscaling capabilities on SD DVD. However, I've been watching a lot of SD DVD's lately and I noticed that they look a hell of a lot better now than it did before. I started to notice this recently after I updated my player with the last couple of firmware updates. I could be wrong but I seriously believe that one of those firmware updates impoved the BD30 upscale capabilities big time.....Anyone out there noticed this as well?

I'm gonna try The Mist this weekend and check it out. I dont normally watch DVDs on my BD player because I have a separate one for those but you got me intrigued...

I haven't seen any improvement in it at all. There is a lot of variability in the DVD's themselves as far as how well they upscale. Maybe that's what you're seeing? This is something that I would like to see improve with the BD30 as it's my only real complaint with this player. I've even been thinking of adding a good Oppo upscaler to my HT because of it.

The only thing I noticed was the PQ improvement on BDs when I went from the Sony 300 to the Panny BD30.
