Projector recommendations

If you are willing to wait, the new crop of projector will be release between Oct-Jan. You might be able to snatch a good 1080p projector then at that price...

I have an Epson Powerlite Home 1080P projector- I'm thrilled with it! I'm using a 102" Carada bright white screen and can't get over how good it looks! I would never have thought I could get such an awesome picture for under 2k (I paid $1,870 in December).

If you can stretch your budget a bit you won't be disappointed. If you're really stuck at $1,500, I don't believe you can get a 1080P projector unless you can wait until they get that low. Since you're using it for BR discs, I wouldn't settle for 720P. You'll be happy with it much longer if you get 1080P IMHO.

The distance from the projector screen to the couch is 12'. The screen is 102". This gives me a viewing angle of 34.3 degrees. 30 degrees is the minimum recommended.
