DTS HD MA PS3 setup question - Blu-ray Forum

I'm a videophile guy, but an audiophile newb, kinda. I can output the new DTA HD MA sound through my receiver via HDMI, but what should I have as my settings on my PS3--PCM, bitstream? I have PCM now I believe.

Also, I'm assuming this new sound is better than PCM loseless, or DD HD sound, right?

I have blus that support the new sound and want to make sure I have it set up correctly.

Anything that sounds stupid or ridiculous in this post is because of my audio newbness--thank you.

lpcm and have everything checked in the audio section. dts ma will be sent just like true hd as pcm.

I looked for anything to check in an audio section and can't find where I "check" anything. Where?

in the xmb audio settings where you select hdmi, then it will ask auto or manual. just select auto and it will select everything for you.

Hi Guys! I downloaded the PS3 firmware update 2.30 (in my USB) last night by clicking the Firmware header in this website and choosing playstation asia (my ps3 is asian edition since I live in the Philippines), total file size is 121Mb (I downloaded it twice, just to be sure that it's 100% complete, both file sizes 121 Mb). When I tried to install it, the ps3 prompted that no update was present. I tried again and again, to no avail. I went to the playstation singapore website and downloaded the firmware, total file size is 124Mb. I installed it successfully in my ps3. I wonder what went wrong with the former download. 'Just sharing my experience with other asian edition owners.

My question is: when I looked at the system information sub-menu in my ps3, after installation of the latest firmware, I noticed that instead of the standard dts logo scrolling down, it now says DTS Master Audio/Limited. What does the word "limited" means? Anybody from the expert members/insiders?
