Default Plea to Hollywood

Will somebody out there please allow George Lucas to make a C- 50s Sci Fi Serial w/ CGI furry animals, so the man gets it out of his system, and stops contaminating every single movie he gets his hand on.

And just to clarify KOTCS was A+ 50s Sci Fi, thanks to Spielberg, however the reason it took so long to come out, was because Lucas wanted to make his C level Indiana Jones and the Saucer Men from Mars and Spielberg had the brains to say no way jose.

On top of that, the man wants to make C level Sci Fi flicks for some reason, that resemble the serials from the 50s. Just let him make a movie with all the crap he wants to put in it, let it fail, and then when he decides to open up Indiana Jones V with a CGI furry animal, tell him to shut up because its a dumb idea.

Just look what he did to the beloved OT of Star Wars, you can't walk through Mos Eisley now without CGI jawas falling off CGI banthas and then one of them belching or farting. Thank god he caved to the fans who demanded the theatrical cut, that was made before he had the technology and money to fund his CGI adventures of stupid.

Your pal,
George Lucas
which one are you going to send.

the ridiculous cackling emperor from ROTS?

a stormtrooper that bumps his head when he breaks through my door?

jar jar binks without his ritalin?

howard the duck?

or will i get lucky and have my leg broken in diginty by one of your few good charachters: Boba Fett. But, I shouldn't give you that much credit, because you didn't realize how cool he was and thats why you gave him so little screen time. Then, when you did realize that people liked him, you decided to make a clone and look like a stormtrooper. what a stupid idea.

LOL! I agree. I don't know what the guy is thinking. He's gonna end up being this generations Howard Hughes (in the strangeness department)

Actually, it's long overdue for George Lucas to retire from the biz and pass Star Wars off to people who will give the fans something cool instead of the immaculate conception of Anakin Skywlker!

I didn't get to see Indy this weekend, but from what others tell me, my worst fears have become reality and we are left with a movie more like Indiana Jones and the Phantom Menace. Another disappointing effort that will become one of the top 10 higest grossing films of all time and besmirch the good name of Dr. Jones for all time!

They should let Seth Green or Kevin Smith do a Star Wars movie. They would do it right as they are big fans themselves.

Note: This wouldn't be a typical Green or Smith movie, this would be a movie made for the fans by the fans.

Why do people expect the 4th, 5th, 6th installations of movies to be any good

+1 to that!

I agree, let's save movies from their creators before they ruin them.

im assuming you are talking about the PT.

Here is why I expected the PT to be better. Star Wars is really 1 big movie, broken up into 6 episodes. The same plot (Anakin Skywalker's journey in bringing balance to the force) is the same throughout all 6 movies. Whereas Star Trek, Bond, Indy, etc. each movie is completely seperate of itself and doesn't rely on the other movies. Just look at Empire, the best Star Wars movie, as a movie in itself, it is awful, there is very little plot to it, however, as an episode of one big movie, it is awesome. It doesn't need a plot in itself, as it is just a small piece of a much larger plot and when pieced together makes complete sense. Now after having the last have of the story made back in the 80s and the story and movies being totally awesome, I would expect the beginning episodes of the story to be equally awesome, but they wern't. and its not like they didn't have the potential, the story is there, they failed, because George Lucas hacked them with things like the two-headed pod-race announcer, jar jar binks, the boga, the horrible dialogue, young ankain skywalker, wooden acting, and simply adding too much CGI (Count Dooku's flip over the balcony in ROTS comes to mind, why not just have him elegantly walk down the stairs, taunting his enemies.

ive seen 90% of both men's movies. i know spielberg's style and i know lucas' style pretty well. there were elements in the movie that were clearly a speific person's influence on the movie (CGI animals comes to mind as clearly a Lucas idea). You won't find many CGI animals in Spielberg films, espeically humorous ones, but Lucas likes to use "funny" animals a lot, esepcially in his more recent films.

i thought GoF and OotP have been the two weakest HPs, though still decent movies (the books are too long to accurately do a movie with now, unless they want to split them in two like DH).

Bond and ST are very hit and miss IMO, some of them are good, others are not so good. I mean, eventually if you keep making the same movies over and over and over you are bound to make 1 or 2 good ones.

Been reading up on Indy 5 . . . Ford and Spielberg are all for it, but apparently Lucas wants to wait until he has "another good idea." Couldn't he just leave it up to Ford and Spielberg and do his fans a favor for once? I'm REALLY hoping that, somewhere on this Earth, there is a "Spielberg cut" of KOTCS

Sorry, you caught me off guard. That was great.

I do hope Spielberg is allowed to come up with the story next time.
