I had a look at the first reel of the new transfer and it is much improved - cleaner and sharper. We will get it into production soon.

And then later down the same page...

If you purchased the first version, we will have some sort of program to swap it for the new one.

SWEET! I hope they do the same for HOFD and KFH but include the blood.

This is good news. HD-DVD zealots are still holding up that title (6 months later) as the reason Blu-Ray PQ is inferior. Once this bug is squashed maybe they can finally move past that. Then again, these are crazy HD-DVD folks we're talking about here

Then they'll replace it with endless complaints about how Sony is double-dipping already. Nothing will please them. And, who cares about pleasing THEM?

According to paidgeek, Sony Pictures Classic, which I believe distributed the film internationally, only received a tape of the telecine, from a print of the movie from its HK studio. Nowadays, you get a negative(?) print and a DI to make more prints off. So their HD version was inferior from the getgo.
