Face/Off question - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys, according to blu-ray.com Face/Off is suppose to be out on Blu in a week, but there are no pre-orders of any kind. Can anyone shed some light on this? Blu-ray.com has been getting some dates wrong lately... including Cloverfield. Is it May 20th?

Face/Off is a Paramount title being re-released after their return from HD DVD. As a result they can't put it up for preorder...it's already been released. Presumably they are receiving the discs now and aren't allowed to offer them for sale until next week.. It's being treated more as an out of stock than release..

The HD DVD version was heavily DNR-ed which wasn't the case with the overseas Blu-ray. I am just waiting for the reviewers/owners to confirm that the Blu-ray is a different encode.

Face/off was never released on Blu-ray. It was announced and then pulled after the whole Paramount debacle.

Did anyone else notice the symbolism in the faces being removed in the film and the movie title? "Face Off"? Or was it just me?

Tell me about it!!! I know my record says junior member but I've been in this Blu-ray world since the PS3 launched and I ordered mine off eBay for $900! Anyway, The first 2 Mummy flicks are on my list 100% along with loads of other Universal titles. They got most of my favorite movies of all time.

I think its both meanings... 1, because they take their faces off and two they lyteraly face off with eachother, lol. All in all, its one of the best action films ever!

anyway their are alot of sites that have it up for pre-order.. Hopefully it wont be hd-dvd repackaged... I wish it was getting better audio aswell a movie this good should have LPCM or DTS-hd ma or at the very least truehd
