Lightbulb My first Blue Ray movies I plan on buying. . .

So I'm selling my 360/HD_DVD player soon, and will buy a PS3 (for the BlueRay player).

So I plan on buying,

-League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
-Open Season
-I would buy Xmen 3, but I don't want to spoil the movie, but you probably know why I didn't like it, I would put the "spoiler" tags, but they aren't working on this forum board apparently.

There are more I plan on buying, but those will probably be my first ones.

I have the new Superman, Batman Begins, Hulk, Polar Express, Serenity, King Kong, and a few more on HD_DVD, so I may not re-buy any of these for Blue Ray, though I am selling them. World Trade Center is supposed to be here this week for my HD_DVD player, so I may rebuy it if it's good enough.

My main requirement for movies is that it can't be rated R (unless it's rated R for violence like in a war movie or like for Passion of the Christ, etc.).

I don't think King kong or The Hulk will be on Bluray seeing as how they are universal.
I also chose blu-ray due to selection and because there aren't too many universal movies I like so my choice was obvious.
Why can't you get rated R movies ?

It's not that I can't (I'm 23), I just choose to avoid them because I don't like to hear cursing, etc.

I usually like light-hearted movies, action movies, and Christmas-themed movies (Home Alone 1 being my favorite, and HA2 coming in close).

Yeah, I'm switching to blue-ray mainly because of the larger selection and the fact that Fox (Home Alone 1 and 2, etc.) is Blue Ray-only.

HD4me, you made a wise choice adopting BD over HD-DVD I chose BD simply because of the massive support from all the movie companies. It is clearly inevitable that Universal will support BD in the near future and I don't mind waiting as there are tonnes of titles coming out on BD.

Some suggestions:

Ice Age 2
Kingdom of Heaven
Black Hawk Down

I do plan on buying Ice Age 2, but Black Hawk Down would probably be too depressing.

KOH was a great movie. I'm not Christian, but am a bit of a history buff. And the PQ was really good.

I never miss a chance to push Kingdom of Heaven. Great movie, great PQ. Black Hawk Down was awesome, but cursing, shooting, explosions, death, mayhem, etc, etc.

Yeah, King Kong will never come out for Blu-ray Peter Jackson and Bill Gates are like best friends, Peter Jacksons movies will only come out when HD-DVD is dead which might not happen for a while.

I just picked up Superman I and Superman II (Donner Cut) and both are great PQ Blu-ray movies. Both I think are PG, and should not be missed by any collector.

I also enjoyed Aeon Flux (PG-13), great scifi movie.

Thanks, I'll the Superman movies a try as well, but Aeon Flux I found to be too weird and lacking.

I have The Searchers (with John Wayne) on order. Heard it was a good movie with awesome background scenes.
