New Rockstar Games Franchise Exclusive to the PS3

Everyone knows to have success in this business you need to look ahead, identifying the talent and titles that are going to give consumers new kinds of gaming experiences that help set the bar for the rest of the industry. Rockstar has a heritage for doing just that. We have had incredible success with the GTA franchise and are happy to continue to offer those titles on our platforms, and even more excited about what’s to come from the current and future relationship between our companies. Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.. This is really a win-win situation for both companies. As Jack mentioned in the interview with Geoff, this franchise is not LA Noire, but something all new. We agreed with Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive Software that we wouldn’t disclose anything more about the deal or title at this time, so stay tuned, we’ll share more info as soon as we can.

I don't know, if this sinks in with the whole "new thing" thing. I hope it's something completely new and refreshing. But I hope it's not to specific as table tennis.

I certainly hope it is something that is nice although any game they do now will be comparable to GTA series which could be a problem.

Sooooo...It seems Sony had a strategy all along, well maybe not from the start but they have surely redeemed themselves a bit. Very exciting! Cannot wait to hear and see some info on this venture.

I'm wondering what it is. GTA went multi-platform and everyone knows GTA 3 helped the PS2 sell. Knowing Rockstar, it'll be something brand new that will help the PS3 sell.

yep - I was just going to post a link for this before I noticed this one. Maybe this is why they have GTA IV exclusive content for XB360 and not PS3. Take Microshafts 50 mil and make a new exclusive franchise for PS3 (hahahahahah)

Leave it to Rockstar to have us dying to know just what the hell it is. I don't think this is Red Dead Revolver. It would be nice if they made a decent western game as the aforementioned sucked as well as Gun.

I don't know the schedule of gaming events, but I'd imagine they'd be announcing it at whatever one is coming up near or after April since GTA IV will be out and they'll need to drum up excitement for something.

I hope it's not Bully 2. LOL. I think it's something all together new anyhow, to which I say... AWESOME. Sequels are nice and all, but it's awesome when a new unique game hits the market.

Game developer conference is at the end of February. I think thats what Shin-ra is hinting at.

IDK..... Rockstar games are a hit or miss for me. There are a lot that I didnt really care for. State of Emergency was one of them and lots of people were looking forward to it since it was the next game to comeout after gta3 last gen.
Manhunt and Manhunt2...meh.
Bully was decent. It was different

they need to get gta back as an exclusive...... rockstar has some nice games but nothing like gta and nothing that lasts as long

sony needs to get ubisoft to finally make the sequel to XIII and have that as an exclusive

(resisting urge to rant about there not being a sequel)

Not hard to guess, as the only upcoming gaming event of any note is GDC.

Should be interesting to see what R* have up their sleeves for the PS3.
