Default DCDi?

What's the deal with DCDi and how important is it for a receiver and future capabilities?

DCDi has nothing at all to do with audio, which is where this thread is. It's video processing by Faroudja. At this point, it's a thing of the past.

Sorry Penny didn't realize I was in the wrong section. I guess that's why I was asking questions. Ever thought of changing your name, it doesn't seem to fit you. Maybe nickel or dime. 50 cent is already spoken for, just ask Taco Bell, but thanks for the input it really helped.

Yeah, and Oscarcal is a brilliant name. Taco Bell? What on earth are you babbling about? You really need to read for a long time before posting again.

Maybe try and stay off the threads for a few days and read a newspaper or do some online current events. Google 50 cent and Taco Bell and you'll understand the joke. Sorry if I upset you with my misplaced question, but it was a question I needed an answer to and you sure as shit didn't help. If it's an outdated system and worthless how about telling me why or what the hell it even is for that matter instead of giving me shit for placement. I'm trying to make an expensive purchase (for me at least) and this is where I come to get the best info, from the people who know the best. Cut some slack.

I could say about a million things, but I'll check myself and merely say that your conduct--Oscarcal--is not going to win you any friends here. People are not going to help someone who makes personal attacks on members.

Plus, Penny did answer your question. You asked, "How important is it for a receiver?"

He answered: "It's a thing of the past."

You set a new record for derailing a thread--going off topic in your second post by criticizing his name. You have your answer, so stop trying to pick a fight.

He didn't make a personal attack. It was Penny that misinterpreted Oscarel's statement about his name (I'm guessing it was in reference to how he felt "Penny" didn't match with the avatar he uses of some guy with really large muscles).

That's not really much of a helpful answer. DCDi is still being advertised as a feature on A/V receivers, so saying it's a thing of the past makes no sense. Nor does it help make a buying decision.

Oscarel didn't try to pick a fight as I already stated. He (understandably) didn't like getting jumped on for an innocent comment.

I don't know what DCDi is...and if I was trying to find out what it was I'd certainly put it in the Audio forum too.

For a brand new member, you are pretty mouthy.

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Why people jump on others for asking a question still amazes me.

I think BStecke's link should provide enough answers for the OP.

Given how this thread is going, I think it's best if we end it here.
