Default Let the Right One In

I apologize if this has been asked before. I did a quick search first but didn't find anything.

I'm guessing most people with an interest in "Let the Right One In" are aware of the hack-job that was done on the subtitles for original U.S. DVD/BD release. I read that Magnolia has/would be re-releasing them with the correct theatrical subtitles after the outcry from the fans.

Has anyone bought this BD off of Amazon? If so, did it have the corrected subtitles? I read that on the back of the case it would say, after the listed subtitles, "(theatrical)" to indicate that it was indeed the new version. The picture on the Amazon site does not indicate this but its unlikely they updated the image even if their stock was updated.

So, can anyone testify that Amazon is selling the theatrical version as opposed to the butchered one?

even if the subtitles are messed up i pulled the trigger the other day because amazon has a good price for it. i cant imagine something so trivial really taking away from the movie experience.

Its a pretty big difference. Its the same dialogue, in essence but all the nuance is gone.

I picked up the re-release with theatrical subs, but not off Amazon.

If you've seen the movie and then you look at the comparison pics between the two versions, it really is a big difference. Changes the tone in enough of the scenes to change the overall feeling of the movie.

Do me a favor and PM me when you get it and let me know if it notes the subtitles as being the "theatrical" version.

The problem is the translation itself. The new discs with the original theatrical translation will say it on the back... Subtitles: English (theatrical)

The back of the case should say "(theatrical)" next to the subtitles listed. Does it?

Apparently Amazon has the new prints and have been shipping them out. Here is a thread about it: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=126627

I ordered and it should be here later this week.

I got mine in the mail yesterday and it does say Theatrical. I haven't watched this version yet to compare.

Ok, great. Thanks. Makes me wonder how my search missed that, especially with it being so recent. Sorry for bringing it up again. I guess I'll buy it.

Just buy it from amazon.co.uk It's region-free and has a commentary and the correct subtitles.

I just watched this last night. My problem was my wife wouldnt watch it with me if she had to read subtitles. So my first viewing was with really bad dubs. The movie was still good but the dubs really took a lot out of it.

It's not as if it's a movie that needs such an amazing audio track.

This was an error in disc mastering as it was supposed to have lossless audio on the UK release and even says as much on the case. Momentum Pictures was to be giving disc replacements for those that didnt. Anyone know if replacements are now available or if those in the US can get the replacements?

I received my corrected disc from Momentum in early December, so I would imagine the corrected copies should have found their way to Amazon.co.uk by now.

Sorry, I'm not sure, I purchased my copy a long while ago. Personally I think the subtitles do alter the movie alot. I'm importing a U.K copy because it has the best extras. It may not have master audio, but that is supposed to be fixed soon, if not already. I like the cover alot more too. The U.K version has a great commentary.
