Default Onkyo TX-SR605/606 or STR-DG820/920?

Hey Everyone!

I just bought a couple new goodies (Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ85U 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV) and a Panasonic Blu-Ray (DMP-BD30). I have an old Onkyo receiver (HT-R510) that doesn't have HDMI capabilites but I will be using the speaker set that came with it for this new receiver.

Based on my choices in the title and what I will be using them with what would everyone here recommend? It is not a huge room so output isn't a huge issue. I am more interested in quality.

Thanks for any feedback and recommendations~!

I agree, I plan on eventually changing out the speakers but there is no way my better half will allow me to do it all at once. I am already pushing my luck as it is. =)

Can I ask you what makes you choose the Onkyo over the Sony models or even the competing Denon models?

From what I have read the Onkyo was ahead of everyone when it came out but Sony and Denon have closed the gap.

Denon is a fine audio company and shouldn't really be compared to Sony. Sony's cheaper receivers and even higher priced receivers aren't sonically (my opinion) or technically that impressive. They do get the job done though and people like them. I'm not trying to insult others, that's just my opinion. Onkyo receivers are excellent for the money and they are practically always loaded with the features you want and features you might never use. There is better, of coarse, but you get what you pay for... a great value receiver.
