I do not have a hatred for Monster products. I just don't like paying too much for something when I don't have to. The only thing Monster in my current setup is the HDMI cable, becauuse it worked for me. I tried so me less expensive solutions first but the results were less that stellar. That is my story and I'm sticking with it. Your milage may vary.

Now, as to your questions:
The first link you have is nothing more trhan a power strip with a surge protector in it. I wouldn't give $89 for that, ever.
Your second link is to a power center. This is much more desirable, though I can't really say I've done the research to tell you if that particular model is going to give you the most bang for the buck. The specs look okay, but it is kind of a smaller unit. You just need to make sure it has enough capacity to actually power everything you plan to plug into it.

For a hundred bucks it's not bad. It's certainly better than what you've got. From looking around, a lot of people seem to use Panamax and another brand whose name completely escapes me, but for a hundred bucks, why not? I've got a Monster line conditioner that I got from my days at Best Buy, and I can't say anything bad about it.

i have 2 HTS1000s (one for the TV, Receiver, PS3, XBOX, etc, and one for the Subwoofer... overkill i know) and I have nothing bad to say... they do the job and since you (apparently) work at circuit city you could probably get them cheap anyways... since the warranty on the monster stuff i dont think is transferable

Monster makes good power conditioners. APC also sells very good power conditioners at reasonable prices. They are available at most electronic stores or you can buy directly from the manufacturer.

I have to say I looked at the above Monster power conditioner and almost pulled the trigger until i say the other lines they have. I went with the Monster HTS3600MKll and have to say it does the job and then some. I too normally do not buy monster products but this i have and have been very happy with it. As mentioned above, I too tried many HDMI cables but all failed to deliver. In the end i bought the Monster HDMI 1000HD and looks amazing. GL with the Power conditioner, the you posted looks good just make sure it has the proper amount of outlets to run your unit. ALso remember that some of the outlets that these conditioners offer have switched and unswitched outlets to run certain accessories..GL

Well CC, I have the powercenter your buddy is trying to sell you for $100, I like it very much, it looks cool, protects my stuff, and everything plugged into it is insured,I would buy it! but I am going to need a different powercenter soon with all the components i have been getting over the past year, so I'm going to get the Panamax 5300 and use my hts1600 for my bedroom or find someone to buy it, $95 and it's yours kidding!
