The Sony Vaio FW Series Review

One of the major disadvantages of being a college student is that you are always in short of funds. I have a PS3 and a modest 23 inch Samsung LCD TV for my dorm room. I was looking for a laptop with blu-ray playback and decent screen so that I could procrastinate for couple of hours while at the library or the student center. I was in the market for a while and recently came across Sony Vaio FW. It seemed perfect for my budget range.

The FW series has been created for HD lovers. It is the first notebook that has a 16.4" screen for true 16:9 playback. It has Centrino 2 which keeps it relatively cooler than other laptops. It has HDMI out for hooking it up with a TV.

It cost me around $1800.

The laptop works smoothly. It is very attractive to look at. Possibly the best Vaio design. It has decent speakers for a laptop. I played several BDs including some of the latest releases and everything works fine. It also plays most of the latest games like crysis at medium graphic settings. The battery life while watching a BD is about 2 hours 15 mins. I would definately recommend this notebook to anybody who wants to watch blu-ray movies on the go. I hooked the notebook up with my friends 46" Samsung LCD TV and the image quality was awesome.
