Default BPD-S300 vs. Top Gun problem

Gentlemen, please help!
I've bought "Top Gun" on Amazon and it's not working on my Sony BPD-S300 (Zone "C"). It's loading and loading and loading... Is this the problem with the player or disc?

Thanks in advance! It's one of my favorite movies... and I can't wach it...aaa!!!

Same thing happened on my parent's BDP 301. It eventually went away, try to let the loading go for as long as possible. What firmware are you using?

If you have fw ver 3.95 or better still, 4.20, you shouldn't have problems loading Top Gun.

If you have updated your player to 4.20, consider the following issues discussed below. One of those might be the problem you're having:

I have noticed that the past several firmware updates for the S30x player have been failing to do an automatic reset after successfully installing the update. That reset must be done before the update takes effect. I don't know if this has been happening to every player or not, but a few of us on the forum have reported on this problem. When you turn your player back on, after doing an update it should automatically reset itself. All your settings will be set back to factory settings. Lately, we have been having to do the reset manually after firmware updates. See page 53 in the manual for instructions.

Another thing I noticed happening that interferes with loading is pressing any buttons on the remote or on the player while it is loading. My wife has done this sometimes while waiting for the player to finish loading. I end up having to fix it by cycling the power.

You know that Lucy Diamond told you to check you firmware earlier right? If a disc does not work in a player, the first step is to check the firmware.
