If you are considering an Amazon purchase, I would wait on both movies to come down in price. In my opinion, both movies are overpriced, even if they are both good movies and transfers. If you wait a little while, it is possible to get both.

I just ordered the Attenborough version -- didn't want the Oprah version. It's the same price.

Trying to give you my unbiased opinion, but it's hard since I like Saving Private Ryan so much.

But, going on the strength of the 3 movies I would, without a doubt, go with Saving Private Ryan: great 4.5 star PQ and 5 star AQ, The Illusionist, and Blind Side over Life. The weaker of the 3 IMO is Blind Side. But all those are way better than watching Life, of which the superior version is the Attenborough 1080p version (which may be hard to find at retailers!).

You should ask yourself this:

Would I rather spend my hard earned $$ on a few movies which I would without a reasonable doubt watch more than the series Life? IMO Life is a one-time view and I wouldn't spend my money on it unless it was less than $40. That's what it's worth to me.

Edit: I see that you've already made your decision. Sorry.

If you have a good HT system. I'd get SPR when it goes back on sale.

is there a reason you didnt order from DD? The poster above said you could have gotten it for $20 cheaper then amazon? Did you have credit at Amazon? If you bought from DD for $37.50 you could have grabbed SPR for just under $60...

Hmm.. unless DD doesnt sell the David A version... the link shows Oprah

Edit - nevermind - they do sell http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cf...-59B483D2B785/

$36 with free shipping..

Agreed, the OP can probably get both for $60 with DD's sale.

Life, Life, and Life.

If you really want a war movie, pick the Band of Brothers over SPR. it provides a better value for money.
