United Kingdom Severin UK Release & Discussion Thread

Seems like Severin are back to UK operations with a small bang! I guess this is why Second Sight never mentioned a possible release.

I'm yet to order the US ones but I have to say, the sultry packaging may still sway me to those, haha.. Be nice if they did the same for these.

In other news, they're also releasing Birdemic in November….

Nice, hope they release all their back catalogue. Already have most of them but glad to see 'em releasing over here.

Ahh nice, but it's a shame they're not nicer editions with the CD etc like the US versions.

I got mine from Severin earlier in the year and they are glorious. Great to see Severin getting into the UK. Now bring us the 3 disc Lost Soul!

I was a bit disappointed when I first heard the news, having already imported them. However, they don't seem to be as lavish a package as the US releases, so I'm happy I imported. It would be great to see Severin release more UK discs though.

I already have my copies Ecstasy and Lesbos, but this is terrific news that Severin will be releasing titles in the UK. I'm hoping for more Franco films, but I would also like them to release The Stuntman over here, to save on importing.

Wait a minute, does this mean that Severin has the chance to release an unfiltered, better disc than the US one? because VL got quite a bad rep on its release.

I imagine they'll be ports of the US discs.

It would be nice, they certainly have the opportunity to do so, but I'd feel a bit bad for the US buyers if they did ... for about three seconds!

Noticed on Amazon UK in the past week that both She Killed in Ecstacy and Vampyros Lesbos have both been pushed back to Monday 30th November.

Recently scored the Australian collector's edition release for Vampyros Lesbos

Has most of the 1st Disc features from the US Severin release, but doesn't have the Spanish VHS version from the US disc 2. But I did score it for around $15 AUS, so can't complain.

I'm going to order the US version for She Killed in Ecstasy. Currently down to $23.74 on Amazon, and with the bonus CD soundtracks for Vampyros Lesbos/She Killed In Ecstasy/The Devil Came From Akasava, it's more than worth the coin.

They're down as Lace DVD on the BVA, this is the only company I could find.

Bloody Moon now also up for preorder. This is all happening very quietly. According to Amazon it's on 7th Dec. Yet to buy the US release but won't be paying nearly £22 for it, haha. Hoping for £8.99 like the other two Francos.

Thought I'd change the title to make it more general seeing as Birdemic and Bloody Moon are in here as well.

Or at least I thought i could. Could a mod please change it to the Severin UK Thread?

I'll try and grab them instore if my local have stock or do a customer order. I'm still a bit torn about Vampyros Lesbos with the US set having the Spanish version in albeit poor quality. I've found I can watch anything in any quality still at least once out of curiosity so that doesn't bother me and it would be good to have.

I was just trying to pick up a couple of 88 Films release that I haven't got, I was looking on amazon but the prices were horrendous, I jumped over to HMV and whilst looking for Scalps I found Bloody Moon for £8.99 so I got it along with Blood Rage and Scalps. I wonder if there are any special features?

What other films do Severin own that are Horror/Slasher related?

Other than The Manson Family which they released a couple of years back this is it at the moment UK-wise that we know of. Plenty in the US though so it remains to be seen what else they can/intend to release here.

I'm guessing Bloody Moon will be a port of their US disc which had an interview with Franco and trailer.
