Hi gang,

My wife and I are visiting the LA area and we don't really want to go to Disneyland or Universal Studios. But we LOVE movies, how movies are made and Blu-Ray technology. Does anybody here have the ability to offer some kind of an "insider's tour" to some kind of movie studio, production studio, post-production studio, etc.? As an example, I've had the oppertunity, in the past, to tour Sony Imageworks, and the Sony lot (go on set of Memoirs of a Geshia), etc.

Anyway, my wife and I are in town until Sun. and we're staying in Laguna Beach (but we're willing to drive.)

Please do yourself a favor and watch a movie at the New Beverly in the Miracle Mile district. It's enar Beverly and 3rd think. North of Museum Row.

It's one of the last theaters in LA that is independantly owned and shows really obscure double features every day of the week.

Also, you can goto the graveyard in West LA and pay your respects to Marilyn Monroe. Rodney Dangerfield is in the same cemetary.

There's one on Saturday nights called Miss Kitty's Parlour at the Dragonfly in West Hollywood. That one is crazy. They had a show where a royal court was eating dinner off of naked women. A drag queen won a BJ contest there too. Awesome place.

I heard the WB Studios have an interesting tour.

Also, I suggest going on one of those tours to the Stars Home's. Either pick up a map to the stars homes, or go on something like Starline tours.

Also, in the chinese theater area they should have a booth for free tv show tapings.

Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Even if you don't go there to see a movie, the footprints/handprints and the theatre front are worth the visit.
