Default Just bought Onkyo 606!

Just figured i'd post here since i just bought an Onkyo 606 from amazon.

Got a good deal i think. I signed up for the sony style card and bought it from amazon for $349 with free shipping then i'll get my $150 credit and i'll only owe $199 which i think is awesome for a brand new one .

Now i just have to sell my old setup on ebay or craigslist so i can buy some speakers . I'm trying to figure out how much to auction it for i paid 325 for it new a year ago and its a nice samsung htib setup with hdmi and upconverting 5 disc dvd changer. The sound is great i just want to hear the HD audio on my blu's.

It will be so nice not to have to use my hdmi switch box anymore.

I'd put the HTiB in a bedroom. I never sell my stuff lol, it just gets moved into the next room that needs.

I would but my bedroom is tiny and I don't want to go through the hassle of wiring all the surrounds in again since i'm already going to have to when i get the new speakers.

Then sell it, and start piecing your system together. Remember the most important speakers are you front three. And you should try to timbre match those three.

Yeah that sounds like a good place to start.

I was looking at some polk's or even looked at onkyo's speakers. I will probably be on a limited budget since I have a 7 month old and my wife would harass me if I spent to much.

Another side note Amazon has fast shipping I ordered with the free standard shipping and I just got an email saying I will recieve it tomorrow! Thats quick I must be close to a distribution center.

Onkyo sells a speaker set for 7.1 plus a sub woofer for their receivers if you're interested. The model # is SKS-HT750. It usually runs around $350.00.

I was just making a suggestion that would be economical and would match his Onkyo receiver. What would you suggest? Hmmmmmm???? Didn't see you throwing anything out there.

Maybe if I hit to lottery one day I can have a set up like that. It would take me a year to collect all the speakers and by then the receiver would probably be outdated...LOL

Thanks for your suggestions, i was going to go with the onkyo but i just bought the Polk RM6750 instead. I think i'll be very happy with it! Plus i never knew they have a 5 year warranty on the speakers and a 3 year warranty on the sub.

I agree with you there. I wish i had the money some of these guys put towards there setups. I shopped around and got the Onkyo 606 and the Polk RM6750 for $380 shipped. I don't think you could beat that price.

Well the deal might not be for everybody but i don't mind waiting a few weeks to get my money back. I bought the Onkyo 606 new from amazon with my new sonystyle card for 349 w/ free shipping minus the $150 i get from sony brings it to $199.

Then i just bought the Polk RM6750 from ebay with 25% cash back for $214 minus the money i get back and it brings it to $180.

$199+$180=$380 for everything.
