Default Hellboy II

Watched HB II recently. Blu-ray.com and setup menu said the audio was 7.1 HD.
But it played 5.1. Are there different versions of Blu-ray discs?

Mine played in 7.1. What player did you watch it on?

I have heard that other blu-ray players, such as the Samsung, are having the same problem with the Hellboy II disc. they say it may be a flag problem. that's what others have been saying. here was the post I read at AVSForum S550 thread:

As you can see from my earlier reports, I had success with 7.1 Ch. PCM uncompressed feeds and 5.1 and 7.1 TrueHD. However, with 7.1 Ch. DTS-HD MA I encountered only a 5.1 PCM feed to my HDMI 1.2 receiver. After someone suggested it could have been disc (Rush Hour 3) related, I then acquired HellBoy 2 and experienced the same thing.
Samsung owners have also reported 5.1 downmixes with Hellboy 2. It seems likely there is a non-standard flag in the 7.1 speaker mapping on that disc similar to the handful of earlier problem discs and the dts-MA decoder in the S550 doesn't know what do with it. I'm surprised that Sony, after fixing the decoder in the PS3, would release another player with the same flaw. But, this suggests that may be the case.
