Does the ps3 recognise mp4 video files when installed on the hard drive??

Well, I believe everything you download from the PSN is .mp4.

Yes, it supports .mp4. I think that was the main format it supported at launch but sometimes when I transfer a Quicktime .mp4 file over, it doesn't work. On the PS3 it'll say Unsupported Format... - Different codec or something?

I have several video files that are MP4s and my PS3 only ever says "No Titles" when I try to watch them on it.

As long as it's not in a Quicktime container or something like that, guide here on removing that.
