Default Parents (1989)

It has been soft announced by the Facebook page several times now. The two most glaring examples consisting of:
Quote:
Movies like “Chopping Mall”, “Blood Diner”, “Waxwork”, “Return of The Living Dead 3”, “C.H.U.D. II”, “Parents” and “Lair of the White Worm” just don’t have the demand that “Twilight” or “The Hunger Games” have.
and this:
Quote:
Guy: What's next?
Vestron: Ask your Parents.
And given that the person behind the page says that, while being unofficial, they do have some a man on the inside, this has to be taken for what it is.

Thumbs up

I've only watched Parents once. This movie freaked the hell out of my GF, who (like me) is a big horror fan. It's hard to give the heebie-jeebies to someone who's seen it all. I'll be getting this one for sure!

The trailer didn't sell me on the film. I'm planning a blind buy anyway but I'm staying far away from Lair of the White Worm. Can't risk a $30 blind buy on that one.

Randy Quaid and Sandy Dennis in the same movie, involving cannibalism? How can this not be either fantastic or terrible?

I saw this on video as a kid and thought it was quite a chilling horror dark comedy in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Motel Hell kind of way.

Can't wait for the extras to be announced even Randy Quaid in an interview

His interview will probably be conducted from the wilds of Canada whilst he's teaching stoats to play the French Horn.

I owned the laserdisc. Years ago I showed it to my sister who was about 10 at the time. I blame myself for her lifetime fascination with screwed up movies (she thanks me). Can't wait to get the BD.

It's only $5.99 on Vudu in hdx as an alternative. I do kind of want this on blu but not at $22-30.

Don't even worry about it. It's fantastic. Do you have a dark sense of humor? If so, you'll like it. I am a very happy camper right now.

Enid's lamb-like father from "Ghost World" and Russell Dalripple from "Seinfeld", as well as the scientist from "Altered States" and the town planner from "A Mighty Wind" has directed a movie finally, back in 1987, called "Parents."

Gotta see it. Rented the VHS, remembered the creepy music and sound effects..now a blu ray release. Great news!
