Default Is the Onkyo 606 overkill for my situation?

I have a home theater that is used to watch movies only. I had just a dvd player, receiver and an infocus 4805. And they work well. But, I have stopped buying regular dvd's and was able to get a Panasonic 35 blu-ray player. While it works ok on the 4805. I will be upgrading both the receiver and projector (probably the Panny AX200). I was going to go with the Onkyo 606. But, is that overkill? I want a receiver that accepts hdmi.

Thanks!

In any situation, i wouldn't call the onkyo 606 an overkill. I would actually consider it the bare minimum for HDMI switching receivers.

I don't think the Onkyo 606 is overkill for any situation. It's about the cheapest 1.3 HDMI receiver that decodes all the audio formats. I would say the Onkyo 606 would work for your situation, and definitely wouldn't go with a model cheaper than it.

Dude, if you have your own room dedicated to watching movies, then the 806 should be your bare minimum!!! What kind of speakers are you going to be driving with the new receiver?
