Default Hallelujah!

Last night I went to see Slumdog Millionaire (highly reccomended). Well, Slumdog isn't a wide release and you can't go to the Megaplex to watch it.

Holy cow, what a difference not going to the big theatre makes. There was never one time that I saw a cell phone, nobody talked, nobody made out in front of me, it was awesome, it was like I was at home.

Now the screen was a little small for my taste and the price was about a buck higher than normal. But the seats were more plush and the film was kept in better condition it looked like, it almost looked digital at somepoints, but at others you could tell it wasn't.

Unfortnaetly they only show the limited releases there and I can't go for all my movies, but I really don't see anything drawing me back to the Megaplex until Watchmen.

Between blu-ray and my newly discovered little secret though, the Megaplex can kiss my youknowhat. im so sick of paying 8 bucks to listen to peoples conversations on the cell phone.

You guys must always have bad experiences in the theater. Me, I love going to a megaplex. The one in my city is incredible, It's as good as it gets. We too have a limited release theater, but it is a dive. The building it is in is actually an old church. I've been their once and i hated the experience. I LOVE mega and multiplexes. I also don't mind the price to much.

I have big theatres near me I hate and ones I don't mind.

I should go to the close smaller theatre more often though, I miss way too many movies.

I don't know what it is about the cinema expereince that I love. It's the combination of the film, the large screen, the taste and smell of popcorn, the perfect sound. All that stuff is why I love going to the theater.

My sentiments exactly. Very seldom will the sound meet my expectations in the theater, not even the IMAX showing of the Dark Knight that I attended.

My theater has better sound then any home theater i've been to. It has Klipsch sound with subs behind the screen. Plus it's newer, the theater just opened last year.

My town doesn't have a theater. I'm not joking.

The town we go to is nice. Haven't heard about there being a limited release theater there...

The point that I was making is that the bitrate of the soundtrack in movie theaters is less than than the 640kbps DD tracks some Blu-ray's get. If I remember correctly, it's in the 200kbps range.
