Default Movies you just couldn't get into....

Harry Potter is one of those movies. The first time I tried watching the 1st HP movie, I was like..."this is not doing it for me."

My question for you is: Will the BD Harry Potter experience get me into these movies?

Do I need to watch em in order to know what's going on? or is there a best of the series that I can buy and try to enjoy?

I'm not sure if them being on BD will necessarily make them more enjoyable for you if they weren't the first time, but it's not likely to make them less enjoyable.

They are generally pretty self contained, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to watch them in order.

Yes you need to watch them in order, because u meet new characters in every movie, and its cool to watch them grow up and change. They are all great movies and i know what u mean, but the first one was ok, but after the second one ur gonna ***** to see the next one. Worth watching it, watch the movie the whole way through, u will not be disappointed. Lord of the Rings is better though, but thats another topic lol

Hope this helps
P.S. - Watch the first 3 movies on SD because HD doesnt cut it, but the 4th and 5th are awesome PQ

What are you talking about? There's absolutely nothing wrong with the first three, ESPECIALLY Prisoner of Azkaban. There's no comparison between the DVD and BD.

I actually bought the Passion to watch the gruesome stuff . . . I don't know why, I like watching stuff that would make the proverbial billy goat puke.

I've watched Blade Runner a few times and had a hard time getting into it. I wasn't really "in the mood" for that type of movie when I sat down to watch it any of the times, but I forced myself to watch it. I'm getting the BD on Tuesday, hopefully it'll change my opinion.

Your P.S. is bull. Watch all Potter's on blu because even the early films are leagues better than the SD's. The first film is the weakest, but yet a damn fine transfer, and the rest are quite stellar.
I blind bought all five, by the way, and loved them.

One of the worst blu-ray movies I've seen is The Fountain. I must've thought it was a bad movie because either I had too much to drink or it really was that boring. I tried my hardest to get into the movie but couldn't. Anyone else seen this horrible movie?

I like The Fountain, although I have to say it is slow and I can understand why some would say it's boring. It’s defiantly not a movie for everyone. I think this is the best acting job Hugh Jackman has done so far.

As far as Harry Potter, I didn't care too much for the first one (the first time I saw it), but 2nd one was better than the first. The 3rd is better than the 2nd. Personally I thought the 4th was the best. 5th wasn't bad either.

As far as Movies i just couldn't get into, the biggest, most poplaur movie I would say is Napoleon Dynamite. I try to watch this movie 3 times and turn the movie off at the same spot. I still don't understand why everyone thinks this is a great movie, but everyone has their own taste.

This is most definitely NOT an easy movie to get into. Can't say I would call it the worst film I've ever seen but I don't expect I'll be putting it back into my BD player for a LOOOOONG time. As for LOTR (the entire series), that can only be truely described as an "Epic" film in the tradition of C.B Demille's great films (i.e. The 10 Commandments). Can't wait for that to come out in BD!

No, I think I should of had a few when I watched it. It was excruciatingly boring and pretentious IMHO.

Slept thru Harry Potter: Lost in Phoenix last night. But Scanner Darkly, I had to stop watching after about thirty minutes.

Vacancy. I rented it. I fast forwarded through a good portion and then I quit. It was a tedious vehicle for Kate Beckinsale's hubby to throw a job her way. Rise of the Silver Surfer did nothing for me and nor did The Wild Bunch.

It's a tie between "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Warriors of Virtue". I was a projectionist and had to watch both of these movies I normally love Tim Burton movies but not that nightmare. It was the first movie I ever walked out on. Warriors was a stupid kangaroo film!

I saw it on standard DVD. Thankfully I hadn't bought it on Blu-Ray.
I don't mind slower paced movies, with emphasis on story/character development...etc. I don't have to have guns blazing, building exploding and car chases in every film I watch.
Even so, I thought The Fountain was incredibly boring. I never plan to watch it again..ever. There are just too many other choices, and not enough time.

the Fountain is one of the few blind purchases that I made as I really loved Requiem for a Dream from the same director. I have not watched it yet, hopefully I will find something else about it to pull me in.

I should have said The Fountain was incredibly boring ..to me. I'm aware we don't always like the same movies. No offense to anyone who enjoyed The Fountain. This movie just wasn't for me.
I'm sure if I listed some of my favorite movies, there would be folks who didn't like them either.
Fortunately, we have a wide variety of movies to choose from.
