Default Monoprice Sub cable's or Monster?

I just purchased Difinitive technology BP-7004's and I'm going to use the subs in them. I'll use a Y splitter to my Marantz 7002 reciever. Would you get high quality Monoprice sub cables or Monster?

Monoprice gets my vote ! Mine are all from there & would not even consider wasting my money on the Monster cables !

Use whichever one is cheaper, but you would likely be able to save even more money by using the free yellow composite "video" cable that came with your latest electronics purchase.

You won't be able to tell the difference between the cables unless you are looking at them and then you can say "that looks like the Monster cable" but sonically there isn't going to be any difference.

There is no such thing as higher quality or low quality sub cables. It is all about shielding and blocking EMI/RFI interference. Any 6ft to 12ft sub cable above $20 is a rip off. The best sub cables are coaxial cables with good shielding. These cables should have good copper braid shielding with 95% or more coverage and aluminum foil shielding. Copper is better for blocking lower frequecy electromagnetic interference and aluminum is better for blocking higher frequency radio frequency interference. All the the other nonsense promoted by the cable manufactures is cosmetic and window dressing to justify their outrageous prices. Buy Monoprice and read the following thread:

Yeah, the only real upgrade you would get from a standard coax cable would be a balanced cable but as hardly any home A/V gear uses balanced connectors, that wouldn't do much good.

Monoprice all the time, every time. All my cables are from Monoprice. They are great quality, good looking cables, at an almost give away price. 'Nuff said.

Depends on the price... I got this Monster THX cable for a couple of dollars more than the Monoprice.

Mono sells the 15' subwoofer at $5 plus shipping... and if your in Canada, shipping will cost you a decent amount. My 16' Monster THX cable cost approx $12.00!! In my situation, going Mono was out of the question. At Mono, for a $16 (about 6 different cables) order I was looking at $30 of shipping... do the math. And thats not counting the duty I might get hit with if its over $20 before shipping!
Maybe shipping is cheaper in the U.S. ??

Yes, in general Monster prices are high but you can't deny that its a well made product and there warranty is pretty good. I recently went back to the store where I purchased the Monster but they mostly had Acoustic Research cables now. So I picked up a 25' cable that came with a really nice and well built "Y" adapter for $16.00.

I would recommend checking out Bluejeanscable.com for sub cables. They offer high quality at reasonable prices. When I had my old subwoofer, I upgraded from a cheapie cable to a Bluejeans cable, and it eliminated soom boominess that I never realized was there before.

All of my cables came from Monoprice and that's who I recommend.
