Default Full screen picture on Sony S350

Hi,

I recieved a Blu Ray player (Sony S350) for Christmas and have a question I hope someone can answer.

Why, when I watch Hellboy 2 is the whole of my Sony 40" LCD screen filled with image but when I watch the Dark Knight only the imax sceens are full screen with the rest letterbox?

Surely Hellboy 2 wasn't all filmed in imax?

Thanks!

its to do with aspect ratio- dark knight & hellboy have different aspect ratios- dark knight imax scenes use a different ratio to the rest of the movie.

^ correct, and I would recommend NOT changing the T.V. or Blu-ray player settings to try to "Fill the screen" because you'll just be cutting off some of the image, and also get a poorer quality image.

Here's a good thread about it.
