The Others Blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

I'm looking to upgrade my standard dvd edition of "The Others", but saw the back of the blu ray box and it doesn't list any extras. Can anyone who owns "The Others" on blu ray confirm this? I'm a completist and need those extras. Thanks!!

Like usual with most Alliance releases-Wrong aspect ratio and no extras, but cheap.

The Others is only available on Blu-ray from Alliance Films in Canada. Alliance does not do 'complete' BDs. It will be just the movie with English and French audio - no commentaries, no special features, heck even no subtitles. I think The Others was even one of their 1080i discs, not a 1080/24p encode. If you're a completist, this is not the release for you - wait for the US one to eventually come out.

I hear this disc is not much of an upgrade over the dvd. Wait for Miramax/Disney to release it in the U.S.

Why is it Alliance is releasing some highly demanded films and their American studios aren't? It does not make any sense.

Just checked--yes it is. No extras and the picture quality isn't that much of an upgrade from DVD.

There is a French release for The Others, but unfortunately the disc has forced French subtitles. With the exception of that mishap it's reportedly a solid release, so I'm not sure if you would be interested in it or not.
