Personally, I would go after the SuperBowl to buy a TV. Allot of people return there TV's after the SuperBowl, so tons of Open Boxes. Also go for 1080p, well worth the extra penny.

If you are thinking of doing anything larger than 50 inch, I would do a 1080p.

What's an 'hwos'? If you are implying that TV stations only broadcast in 720, I believe you are incorrect. Most HD TV stations are 1080i.

He said "higher than 720" which is technically correct.

But... I don't watch movies in 720p, I watch in 1080p. Same goes for gaming- 1080p (even if it's just the console upscaling in some situations). I would not recommend to discount 1080p as you're going to see it become more prevalent- there's already that satellite broadcast that's 1080p.

I am positive we will see alot of deals for HD Tv's after the Super Bowl. Why? Because people bring them back to the stores after the big game which I think is a total waste of money in my book but it benefits those who are looking for a great HD Tv at a steal of a price.

That's what I said , lol. But it is true, very true. My brother got his TV like that for cheap.

I was in BB last night, and they have already put out some Super Bowl deals, which are bundles, where you get a certain TV, HTIB, HDMI cables, wall mount, etc. They had a 200 ft long fake football field, with the bundles sitting along the field. The deals were decent, if you normally buy at a big box retailer, but I am sure you can still beat them out by going to Amazon, or a comparable online retailer.

IMHO since i have worked in retail for 8 years, the superbowl sales really are not as impressive as typical sales prices. Keep watching the ads for economy in the toilet sales. As for returns after the superbowl... some people do, some dont, sometimes when people get it in there home they decide to keep it.
