Talking Buying my first house!!!

Hey everyone, I'm excited and want to share with the world!! I recently found out that an offer I put in on a house was accepted! It was a short sale, and took 6 months of waiting! Now I am psyched and moving in February and can't wait to setup my Home Theater the right way!!! I've always lived in apartments where I couldn't put my wires in the walls, and hang my tv... all that jazz! This is super exciting for me, yippie!!!!

Congrats! Mortgage payments suck though and its a pain in the a$$ when you get ready to sale. Nothing like actually owning and living in a house though where you can do whateve you want. Enjoy!

make sure you pay more than your minimum mortgage payment every month. take the minimum, add a few hundred and act like that IS your payment.

Thanks everyone, yes it's 30 years of Debt... But at least I'm paying my own mortage rather then someone elses when renting... Hopefully in the end I'll make $$ off the house and make it worth the pain in the a$$ ... if the economy ever gets better.. lol

Congratulations. I'm also planning on moving into my own place. You're right, renting sucks. You're just handing money to someone else...

Congrats...I've been hearing more and more about short sales lately...better than foreclosure I guess.

Just remember, a mortgage payment with extra principal each month brings that end payoff down so much...

Having that mortgage interest is so nice when you come to tax time and get to itemize your deductions!

Congrats on the big purchase. With mortgage rates and housing prices so low, you picked an ideal time to buy.

I live in an apartment granted, but it's mine and it's in a plushy area of my city. Houses over here would be way out of price range for me.

Anyways good for you !

They are fine if you are in no hurry to figure anything out... 6 months for this guy is on the longer side, but they usually take 3-4 months. My foreclosure took 3 weeks to get everything done.

back on topic, Congrats on the house! This is the first year for me I can take advantage of owning on my taxes (bought Oct. 2007 so only had 2 months of interest). Have fun with it!

Congrats! As others have said, it's THE best time to buy a house, and you'll love the mortgage interest / property tax deduction. We're on our 6th home now, and the anticipation of moving into a new place was always the best feeling.
