your saying you can play Japanese blu-ray movies on our blu-ray players? what about the regions? wouldn't you have to have a region free player to play it.

That's a laugh! The BBC funded 'Planet Earth' with UK licence payer's money, yet they chose to release it on Blu-ray in the US first!
Who knows why organisations make the decisions they do?! Dgator783 does have a point though. ![]() |

Alot of people might not like it, but alot of our electronics are second gen to asia. They have stuff right now that we haven't even heard of yet and stuff that we have new that they have been having for awhile sometimes for like 2years. We might have some to but not as much. We made them civil and they took off blooming ever since. I am greatful for what they have contributed to electronics, because we probably wouldn't have some of this technology yet. We have alot of blu-ray movies they don't and we have some that they don't but they do there part in the blu-ray field and for electronics, I say they can have some american movies first if they want, because I am here watching beautiful picture on a samsung tv and on a sony tv.

Jlasoul in response to what you wrote, let me just educate you on something. When you say that asia is way ahead of the western countries, i presume what that is what you are talking about. The united states spent more on research and development than any other country combined. All the new technology that usually comes out in asia or other countries. It is usually what america has sold to them, because they dont need it any more or because they got something better. Just to give you some examples: the internet, GPS, and VoIP.

If you know a little about asian society, you begin to understand why things like games and cell phones are so hot here, and technically advanced. It's easy to create a full infrastructure here (small country sizes) and improve on it. The USA phone infrastructure is not impressive, mainly because the land mass is huge and it's very expensive to cover all of it. None of the phone carriers wants to pay to improve it to what it could be. In Korea, for example, one phone company can blanket the entire country with coverage -- in fact, at least three do. Upgrades are easier.
For example, we now have 3G+ phones here, and can video chat with each other. We've had broadcast satellite and terrestrial-based antenna TV with over 20 channels running at 15 to 30 fps on our phones for nearly 2 years. Koreans and Japanese look at the Apple I-Phone and laugh. The people have little homes, and don't get out much for sports (you'd freak if you knew how much golf memberships at courses cost in Japan and Korea), because the countries like Japan and Korea are small. Here in Korea, people pay what Americans pay for a full golf game just to hit balls into a net. Also, if you understand a little about Japanese culture, you know that they are all about minute details and perfection (to a fault, I might add). They are crazy about small, detailed things. Japanese are obsessed with small/cute -- from phones to women. Concern for detail and perfection is why their cars are so great, and their phones are too. Their ladies aren't half-bad, either. My girlfriend is Korean, and works for a Japanese make-up company. She often tells me about the Japanese, and how they love details. Every product they sell comes with a multitude of instructions, and a Japanese person will sit down are read every little detail before using the product (unlike Koreans, who just want the basic info). Korea (where I live) is great at taking another country's ideas and running with them. They aren't creative at all in Korea. Creativity is abysmal here. It comes from the lack of free-thinking taught in schools. Koreans are obsessed with plastic surgery. You wouldn't believe how many plastic surgery clinics there are in Seoul. They're all over -- like restaurants. Here's my favorite plastic surgery actress, Kim Ah Jung: ![]() More pics here: http://www.hancinema.net/korean_Kim_Ah-joong.php China is huge, but it's a place that manufacturers -- not big on development. It's a different world than Japan and Korea. Last edited by Greenmatiz2; 04-30-2007 at 10:35 PM. |

sfl24, I understand what you are trying to say, america is above everyone else, just because we spend so much money on research doesn't mean we invented all this new technology. You kinda made it a race issue by saying I am putting down westerners, that's your pride of being an american talking, is it that you can't stand someone saying someone else besides america made or did anything, anyways back to the subject we gave them interent and ect., but they have given back too, so whats your deal if they took what we gave them and enhanced them ten fold, that's people working togather. I said what I said because the question from the post was why does japan have it first, and I went off that, we have alot of movies they don't have and they have some we don't have, maybe this will make you feel good, america makes good films, not lately but still, all around the world people like seeing american films, so we can share some with folks that have givin' to, right?

i think that japan and korea are all home to many larg and well know electronic company's. so natrualy there would be a tenedence to sell new products first also there market it big for electronics but compared to north America it is small, so maybe another motive is to test new stuff or since it costs less to ship due to it being closer, and also from stories i have heard about people that have lived in china and japan theres alot less people that sue company s four stuff(i know now a lady is trying to sue Microsoft becuase of there vista capable stickers like w.t.f.)so that might be it?

Define racist, cause you obviously do not know the meaning of the word. And where in my paragraph did I say you are putting down westerners. When you talked about asia, I assume you were saying that they have more technology than countries west of it. Not saying you were putting anyone down. Secondly many of the technology that japan or china uses it what america makes not out of opinion but out of fact. I can provide you with the links if you like. Thought I might educate you on the fact but since you are taking such offense to it, I will leave you in your ignorance.

that's funny when someone says stuff like what you said, always trying to call someone ignorantor put it off on the other person. you said western countries but what what other country are we talking about here, race issue "What! Japan come up with stuff, what america gave them everything, we sold it to them after we were done, WE gave them the left overs," now what does that sound like to you. You may have not said it like that but still were telling me like yeah right. Second you are going by american links, I am going by what they have now and we don't, maybe the government has it but not the public. And what, I'm some ignorant person, because you have to educate me, listen to that, listen to the way you write things and say things maybe that is what it is making things seem like something else, but you don't have to educate me, I can educate myself. And what makes you so educated, being american.
