Default ED A2-300 Vs ????

Okay guys, just got the go ahead to spend max $350 on a sub! I love what you guys have said about the ED A2-300 but not sure i want to wait so long for the new beast to get here! What subs compare to the ED in the same price range?

The ED A2-300 weighs 3X more than my Def Tech SuperCube III (72lbs vs. 25lbs). Cost half as much ($350 vs. $699). Produces about the same lowest frequency (18-100Hz vs. 16-200Hz). Amps (250W vs. 650W). Drivers (12" bottom firing vs. 7.5" front firing pressure coupled to two 7.5 bass radiators).
Size W x D x H (18" x 21.5" x 18" vs. 10.25 x 10.25 x 10.25). Build quality (tough as nails/built like a tank vs. easily damaged exterior).

THE WINNER?

ED A2-300, worth the wait to have it built!
I could of had two of them for the price of my SuperCube III!

Hsu STF2 or their VF series. AV123's MF subs.

If you wanted to go cheaper, definitely I can recommend the PA-120. I feel like I stole something when I watch a movie- $239 shipped. However, with your budget, were it me I'd go with Hsu.

*edit* If I had the room or could hide it better, I'd be strongly tempted to get the eD, especially now that they offer the matte finish as default. Depends on your setup, says I.

thanks for all the help so far! Okay the the HSU is another option. Would it provide the same experience as the ED in regards to the hard hitting bass that everyone talks about? Also why the huge difference in weight? build quality?

You can find a subwoofer from the following list. Some of these manufacturers are factory direct and ship immediately. You get very good value with Cadence. I recently bought a 12" sub from Acoustic Audio (Deep Discount) for my sister. It sounds great and has a lot more WAF appeal than many other subwoofers. I liked it so much that I decided to keep it and order another one for my sister.

Wow, looks nicer than I would've expected for that price. So... open it up and snap some pictures of the insides!

Seriously, I was this close to ordering that Cadence. The only reason I didn't was because I felt like there just wasn't enough out there to go on. However, I still think it'd be worth a look as well.

These will run you alot less but I can vouch for the bic h100 http://cgi.ebay.com/H100-BIC-Acouste...QQcmdZViewItem or the newer PA 120 http://cgi.ebay.com/H100-BIC-Acouste...QQcmdZViewItem these babies are close to even the ED for music but dont hit as hard or low for movies, which is saying alot because I know for a fact the h100 can hit pretty hard but the Ed is on another level. My suggestion is pick one of these subs up to keep you happy while your a2-300 is being made and then resell your h100 or pa-120

The bic h100 was designed by hsu has similar specs is only lacking in the amp section compared to the stf2 and is front firing. For at least $100 less If you spend the full 350 you really should just get the Ed Imho.
