Default Can someone tell me if these speakers should go well together.

I know its important to timbre match speakers. My situation is I love these speakers I bought about 5 or 6 years ago they are Infinity Modulus II 5.1 setup. They are beefy satellite speakers. But I find them to sound so nice for satellites and they are gorgeous IMHO. But after looking at your nice setups on these forums I am getting an itch to add two tower speakers. Can anyone tell me if the following should work nice together. I don't know if it matters but i believe they my Modulus ones have that C.M.M.D. ceramic molding thing and the towers have M.M.D. I don't see the word ceramic. Again I am no audiophile so this may have no relevance at all.

Here's what I have (just in silver)..

Here's what I wanna add if I could find a good deal...

For the record though my receiver will support it, I'm not actually planning on making it 7.1. Just wanna replace my left and right with towers. Not that big of a living room (1 bedroom apt.).

Thanks for your input!

i would suggest that you upgrade at least your center channel to timbre match the front l/r. surrounds are ok.

+1

you really should match the front 3 speakers, better yet all 5. What kind of receiver are you running and if your looking to upgrade L-R-C, you should audition different brands you might find something you like more.

Just my thoughts.

I appreciate the info from both of you! I'm using a 5 or 6 yr old Onkyo TXSR602 which has no HD audio options and no HDMI pass through. I basically just run HDMI to my plasma and audio to the receiver. Anyways, if I'm going to change the Center and the Rears, then I might as well just go with a different brand. I was only thinking those towers because I thought my odds of them matching would increase. I am sure if I'm dropping that much money on it, I will just go out and audition a bunch. I was looking at this as more of an improvement to what I already have than a complete replacement. But any opinions are always appreciated. I could just leave it the way it is and be more than happy being such a small apartment, but I just love the look of tower speakers.
