Default DTS-HD Master Audio via LPCM on my HTPC

I've been itching for DTS-HD Master Audio, and my standalone doesn't offer it. My HTPC has the potential but I don't have sound card with the feature. Right now all I'm getting is LPCM on my PC. Now on to my question: I pop in a movie with DTS-HD Master Audio (and select it) and the computer sends the sound through LPCM, I should be getting DTS-HD Master Audio, right. My PC internally decoded it and sent it via LPCM, right? It just doesn't have the potential to bitstream it, right?

Questions, questions, it never ends.

Thanks for all the help, in advance.

40th view, I'll reply...

First, I'm going through the same thing. I use Cyberlink PowerDVD, which has a DTS-HD MA logo on the splash screen, but it doesn't mean anything. Your current sound card is probably sending out data via SPDIF, which can't do anything but LPCM at a bit rate too low to carry Master Audio (or Dolby True HD, for that matter).

We both need a card that Cyberlink will support, but which hasn't been released yet. See

Comes out in a couple of months. Until then, it's limp-along time with LPCM.
