Con Air blu-ray issue

Ok, so I own Con Air on DVD. It's awful, I know. I was in Best Buy last night and saw the blu-ray for $24.99...not bad. I also had a $10 off coupon. Even better, right?

To top that, it said on the front, "dvd owners receive $10 by mail in rebate." Ok, so I just basically got Con Air for 5 bucks, right?

WRONG.

I opened up the disc and the rebate offer ended Dec. 31, 2008. Shouldn't this have been pulled from the shelf by Best Buy?

What do you guys think I should do, return it to Best Buy or try and get the Buena Vista to acknowledge the rebate?

I could have picked a ton of other movies I'd have rather used my $10 gift card on.

I would return it, but that's just my opinion.

i'd think that is more of a manufacturer issue than best buy's. the movies arrive with the rebate attached, it isn't best buy's responsibility to look through them and go through and remove each one yano?

i bought the ultimate superman collection dvds well after the free poster offer, and of course much to my surprise i opened up the movies and the offer expired :mad

1st - try returning it for a refund. best buy likely won't refund you for an open movie, but if they do, problem solved. if that doesn't work i'd contact buena vista and see if they'll help you out, i wouldn't expect much more than an apology though

well since its open returning it to bestbuy isnt an option sadly

they dont take it back once its open

but there is a loop hole
they let u exchange it for another copy
so i would exchange it for another copy and then a few days later return that copy and get your money back
if BV doesnt acknowledge the rebate that is

but personally i would worry about all that since u still got it for 15bucks

Edit: the bestbuy salesperson told me to do the exact same loophole thing i told you btw for another movie

That depends on who helps you. I've returned a defective blu ray at Best Buy before, and the exchanged copy, they took the plastic off.
