Do you have a second game console?
I have a ps3 and love it..But i do feel like one of the main reasons is because its a Top Blu-Ray player due to the online capabilities... If wii or xbox had a Blu-Ray player i cant say which way i would go. I have been seeing a couple wiis on the shelves lately and tempted. I use to love playing mario games and those kinds. Im getting tired of the more realistic..violent stuff...I do like sports games and i dunno how they would look on wii tho. (madden) And my girlfriend doesnt like the ps3 games..but she talks about playing wii with her family all the time.. Not trying to go into a different console talk...or a bashing contest... Just wondering if anyone has a second console..and was it worth it. (hope i dont get yelled at for this) ![]() Thanks |

Wii's can be fun, but personally I believe they are more of a novelty item. From what I've seen and heard most people who buy them are adults that play them a few months and then they just sit on the shelf collecting dust.

Agreed with all the above statements on the Wii....We played ours for about 2 months, now she is addicted to LBP. The Wii is still great fun when you have some people over. I really enjoyed RE4 on the Wii also.
I also have a 360 and it prob does get the most use but not for any reason other then all my friends in the real world have 360's. The streaming of netflix works really well on the 360's also. |

I owned a Wii for one month and sold it because my wife and I did not use it… A lot of people with kids swear by it though.. It depends on what type of gaming you are looking at doing, I think by far Xbox has the best online world and I would recommend for true online gamers IMO..

I have PS3, PS2, Xbox and Xbox 360. I kept my PS2 because this software ps2 emulation won't work all my PS2 games.
I like play all consoles except Wii. I have my Girlfriends Wii about two months. I played Metroid 3 and thats it. Boom Blox, The Blob and World of Goo are intresting too, but in short sessions. Nintendos game s aren't for my taste. If You or Your girlfriend like Wii games, just buy it. |

I had a Wii for a good while. But Wii games are really pathetic compared to PS3 games. The Wii is standard def only and looks like a huge blur on my 65" screen. And it's hard to point because the Wii assumes you have a small TV, and so pointing the Wiimote at spots on my large TV doesn't actually move the cursor to those spots at all. The geometry gets weird with big screens.
Still, the PS3 had a definite lack of party games earlier on. And basically, we'd play on the Wii when friends came over. But once LittleBigPlanet came out, the Wii became superfluous for this purpose. LBP tromps party gaming on the Wii in a big way. Between LBP and Pain, our Wii collected dust anymore, so I sold it. So maybe rather than dumping money on other consoles, you should look at getting PS3 games your girl friend would like. They certainly do exist. Note that a lot of party games on the PS3, like Pain, tend to get poor reviews because reviewers seem to be solitary people with no friends whatsoever as far as I can tell. They play the game by themselves and don't find them much fun. But a game like Pain is all about laughs with your friends. You don't play it alone. |

I don't think you understand how the Wii control system works. The size of the screen has no effect on it whatsoever. If you are having control problems, you need to look at the position of your light sensor bar and check the calibration of your controller. The light sensor bar is a standard size. It is relaying the position of the infrared light in the wiimotes. This does not change no matter the screen size.

I got both a Wii and a PS3 and I love both, in my opinion few PS3 games and few Wii games are really worth it so with both consoles the amount of games I get is reasonable for my taste and time
