Default Sharp AQUOS LC52BD80U 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Built-In Blu-ray Player

Does anyone have any experience with these? It's the first set I've seen with a built in blu ray player. How is the quality of this set, and the quality of the blu ray playback??

I think This line from sharp is just hitting the market. It's a great idea if the quality is there and the price is right.

That's what I'm thinking! Maybe not for my tv room but I thought it would be a great bedroom tv with the built in blu ray and all! This is the 52" version but I'm pretty sure there's a 46" version also.

Over the years there was little enthusiasm and little market for LCD TVs with built in DVD players so I wonder why TV makers think these will be highly desired?

The BD Player is probably not Profile 2.0 with an ethernet connection either.

Westinghouse and JVC will also market this type of tv in 2009.

Yeah but like I said, as a secondary tv for the bedroom it would awesome!

Wow, If the price is right, this will be my new bedroom TV. I didn't even know they were work on a 2 in 1 system. Good to know.

Default I have the 32 inch version!

Hey there guys! New to the forum. I have the Sharp LC32BD60U for my bedroom. Was leaning towards buying a 40 inch Toshiba for $800 and then a Blu-Ray player until I saw this on Amazon. I bought it off of a local retailer I found on eBay for $846. The TV has a great picture with a ton of inputs on it. Ive only tried 2 Blu-Ray discs in it. First tried the Blu-Ray version of Twister and it worked great. Recently put the newer Blu-Ray of the Day the Earth Stood still on it and it wouldn't work. Looked online for an updated firmware on the Sharp website and couldn't find one. Haven't had the chance to call them and get the thing up and running. I hooked it up to my network and it still didn't help. I really like to TV, just wanted something that was 1080p to hook up to cable and be able to hookup a 360, HD-DVD player and a DVD-recorder. The picture and sound is great, but my Harmony remote can't control the Blu-Ray that is built in. Maybe the TV is just so new and hopefully they'll get an upgrade! The DVD playback is great too, converts up to near HD and looks great! Just hope I can get the newer Blu-Rays working ASAP!
