Default The Dark Knight Trilogy, which do you like the most?

Now that the trilogy is done which of the three films did you like the most? Not necessarily the best rated by the critics but your favorite and why. Is it Batman Begins for shattering the stereotype of what a comic book hero film should be, maybe its Heath Ledger's Academy Award winning portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight or is it The Dark Knight Rises for being the most epic, darkest and most brutal of the three films?

Australia The Dark Knight

For me it's The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker is just too good and memorable to be ignored.

Begins. It introduced us to a new version of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The Dark Knight hands down.

A simply unforgetable and unbeatable performance from the late great Heath Ledger.

BB - loved it, nice origin film but villain was not great

The dark knight - was so great but for one reason ( my own personal view) - Heath Ledger.

but for me it was TDKR - Bane not as good but still a very good villain (although fight scenes needed more oomph ) the ending was EPIC.

I agree. This might just be the best portrayal of a comic book villain/ hero put on celluloid.

The Dark Knight, for the reasons discussed above.
Batman Begins just felt kind of forgettable to me. Nothing about that movie stands out in my mind.
The Dark Knight Rises has its moments but overall it's kinda boring and the conclusion is pretty trite.

Batman Begins - My favourite of the trilogy. It felt considerably more focused than the two that followed and I actually found Batman interesting in this one.

The Dark Knight - I find this impossible to watch now. The pacing is clunky and the script consists of lengthy speeches about chaos and anarchy and morality and shit like that.

The Dark Knight Rises - It's overambitious and I found both villains to be a bore, but I liked the relationship between Bruce and Alfred in this one and I also thought the problems with the previous film had been toned down.

Question Move this thread to the Movie Forum

Anyone know if it's possible to move this thread to the movies thread? I'm kind of new at posting threads and I wanted to post this at the movie forum and have a poll included, not at the poll forum. Thank you.

It is a movie-related poll, so technically, this is the correct sub-forum for this. There are existing threads devoted to discussing each and all installments of the Dark Knight trilogy; folks can still chime in here, but really, the other threads in the Movie forum are where the bulk of the discussion should take place.

this is a great series and I give them all an excellent rating...

but The Dark Knight gets the nod for best simply based on the incredible performance from Heath Ledger... he created one of the most memorable villains of all time... in any movie!

the problem with this is that heaths performace is just what the many great writers and artists in the world of comics books have done with joker since the 80s. ledgers performace is ok but he didnt reinvent the character like so many people seem to think.

if you ask me batman begins is the strongest of the trilogy. DK and DKR arent anywhere near the level of badassery that is on display in begins.

Batman Begins most definitely.

It has amazing pacing, a great story, incredibly emotional, better action sequences and fight choreography. Even the photography and color grading/timing is better.
Watching Batman picking guys off from the shadows one by one is priceless. Batman aims to strike fear into his enemies and it really shows in the action sequences. Both TDK and TDKR lack in this aspect.

TDK is overrated IMO. Sure, Ledger's Joker was great but if you take that away it's a pretty mediocre drama with lackluster action sequences. The Tumbler sequence in BB is excellent and is still the best action sequence in the entire trilogy for me. The pacing is bad in TDK (the boat sequence is the 'ewoks' of the Batman trilogy. Totally kills the pacing after the first time.). Even the score is better in BB compared to TDKR .

BB - 9/10
TDK - 7.5/10
TDKR - 7/10

Batman Begins is the best of the trilogy for me. TDK and TDKR didn't follow the same theme as BB, they were crime dramas with Batman in them.
