Default Cargo Trucks Vs Bridge = Epic Fail

Alright this made my day so I'd figure I would share it with everyone here.

There was a news report done today on the number of Trucks avoiding the "Low Clearance" sign on a RailRoad Bridge in Durham, NC. Considering I live close to Durham, I myself have driven under this old bridge a few times. Even witness one of the accidents before while working in the near by office building.

An employee working in the adjacent office building set up a camera and recorded over the year the number of trucks hitting the bridge.

Durham police statistics show seven wrecks have occurred in the past year at the Gregson Street bridge.

The city installed signs indicating the 11-foot, 8-inch clearance under the bridge and even set up a sensor system that triggers a blinking light to warn oversized trucks.

Norfolk Southern Corp., which owns the bridge and the rail line, erected a metal beam in front on the bridge to reduce the number of direct hits on the underside of the structure. Inspectors check the bridge whenever a truck hits it, officials said.
