Default 850 GB on a DVD

I guess it really wouldn't matter much. Before they are ready BD's will be at 200GB or more. Obviously 850 is more than 200, - but a complete new standard allready at that time and for a factor of just 4. I guess not.

Still the article might be interesting for some.

It probably could be used for special purpose datastorage for buis (backup), - but even there I guess an all standard of the shelf (and then probably somewhat cheaper) 200 GB disc is more interesting than a special 850 GB.
