Default Will you purchase THD discs

Simple question....assuming added cost over current street pricing of BD software...will you purchase THD discs....knowing they will drag the format war on even longer, and cost more?

Yes

No

1) I hate flippers.

2) I hate paying for something I won't use (HD DVD side).

This thread needs to be a sticky so we can load it up. Send it to Warner to show them our disgust at their lumping us in with the enemy.

Hell NO. This THD is only feeding the longevity for two formats. It is without the dumbest venture that WB has ever commited to. Plus I would love to just start boycotting WB titles, due to the lack of support to BD. However, money talks. So I don't want WB to think there is no interest in BD. Not that one buyer would make a difference.

Warner will not see another penny once TrueHD is out. When its back to standard blu-ray movies, they will begin getting purchases again.

They can use THD only for LOTR EE, Matrix triliogy, and even the upcoming 300......and I still will not buy a single THD disc.

I thought that forcing sd dvd flippers was bad as it was.....but THD to me is on par with bad ideas like the original Divx.

I really hate the idea that a studio like Warner thinks they can force us into purchasing their idiotic and greedy ideas for selling HD software.....and I am not a hater in general.

Warner needs to get a clue.....and fast.

Assuming added cost? No way.

Warner can't add a totally useless side of a disc and then expect me to PAY for that. That would be lunacy.

I don't hate flippies. If the cost was the same, then I would choose on a case by case basis.

Even if there isn't extra cost, we're back to that "prolonging the format war " theme again.

I just dont want to lose anything on the transfer because of this. If we cant see BR-50's because we're forced to have an hddvd on one side, Ill be pissed. I dont want to lose the HD sound and the best picture just so hddvd could stay around for a little less time......

Angry

I hate flipper discs, I hate dual format discs, and do we even know that these things will play properly in all of our players? Just like I avoided DualDiscs like they were the second coming of the Bubonic plague, I will avoid THD discs. Warner will not get a single penny from me for one of these discs.

At risk of getting crucified here, I would buy THD if that is the only option. I want movies in HD, period. If Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or Matrix were available only on THD, then so be it because I'm a fan of the movies first, a fan of the format second. But if there is a BD side and an HD side, I can guarantee you that the BD side is what will get used, mainly because of likely superior sound, and niceties like resume play and time skip on my Panasonic player-- two features that are lacking on the Toshiba HD DVD players.

Besides, there's no guarantee that either format will succeed in the long run. If either/both formats should die prematurely, I want a vast library built up.
