Default Star Trek Movie Collection 1-6 is $79.83 at Walmart Canada

I just picked up my copy and I see it's also on their website:

http://www.walmart.ca/wps-portal/sto...d=796&tabId=19

They also have the trilogy set for $36.83 and The Original Series is still there on the shelf for $59.83 so it must not have been a pricing error.

I was debating getting this but for just a little more than renting each of the 6 movies twice I now own them on Blu-ray.

It seems Walmart is maybe on their way to becoming the place in Canada to buy Blu-rays.

confirmed, bought and owned! when i got there they hadnt yet put out the 6 movie collection so i thought they were all sold out, lady told me its still in the shipment box. she reaches in there and gets me one. i took a look in the box and they only had 3 copies of the 6 disc collection (2 now that i bought mine) i'd imagine most stores would have similar numbers of inventory of the items. came upto 90 bucks, works out to 15 bucks a movie exactly. good deal imo. now i just hafta find a friend to buy my 2 disc collectors edition dvds of all 6 movies. lol. thanks alot for the headsup jimbo!

HA!! Exactly! And I just finished my collection from the 2/$10 bin at Walmart!

I was gonna sit out this release, but man, at that price...I dunno!

The transfers didn't appear to be that much of an upgrade over the 2-Disc SCE DVDs. So if you're on the fence on this purchase, maybe check out www.dvdbeaver.com for comparisons & get a glimpse before buying. This is a damn fine price however...

There is DNR yes but these certainly look better than any DVD.

Thanks, Rhylliam. I keep forgetting about that site!
Audio upgrade looks good, though.

The PQ from the reviews I've read seem pretty good. I understand that this is a large franchise for Paramount and these films should be reference quality, but a 9/10 or 18/20 isn't bad either. Look at it this way, does it look better than the DVD? Does the improvement in PQ from the DVD to Blu-ray personally warrant the upgrade purchase? It might not be a 10 out of 10, but to me it looks worth it. I do; however, have the first two movies being shipped to me via Netflix for one final check before I purchase it this week.
