Panasonic DMP BD35 firmware - Blu-ray Forum

This website says the latest firmware for panasonic Bluray player is 1.8.... http://uk.blu-ray.com/firmware/firmware.php?id=32

whereas Panasonic website says the latest version is 1.4 ...... http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c...bd35_euro.html

Which one is correct? (The player I am talking about is Region B)

The latest Firmware for the BD35 is 1.8, but that will not fix all the problems. New Blu-ray Movies with BD-Live 2.0 will not play on the BD35, so another Firmware upgrade is needed. Not a peep yet from Panasonic.

I have 1.8 on mine that I loaded though the automatic update process.

I haven't had a disc NOT play yet on my BD35

same here, no problems so far but maybe we are just not watching the right movies?

If the latest firmware is 1.8 I fail to understand why the pana website is stuck at 1.4. I bought my BD35 with 1.2 and recently upgraded to 1.8. Wonder what I am missing.

Well try one or all of these Blu-ray Movies, "Bride Wars," "The Spirit" or "The Wrestler." Let us know how they play, I think there is a problem with BD-Live 2.0.

is it just the BD live features that don't work or the movies do not play at all?

I have the european firmware 1.4 loaded on mine, and The Wrestler played fine.
My understanding is that there the same firmware but the european is behind the north american(1.8) due to release date maybe
