Default Gaming headsets

Can anyone recommend any good gaming headsets that work for the PS3 and Xbox 360? Preferably wireless, but it doesn't have to be. My price range is up to $150, but I would like to buy one that's under $100.

This is what I have and I love it, can't use the mic though (on PS3)..

http://www.amazon.com/Force-Digital-...0283547&sr=8-1

other options that I looked at:

http://www.amazon.com/TRITTON-Digita...0283574&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/Force-Digital-...0283547&sr=8-2

And even though I say I love my x4's I will not buy another turtle beach product again because of my more recent experience with their PC line of 5.1 headsets. It is unbalanced, and this is already a replacement from the original one that I bought which was even more unbalanced.

So I am looking at these, but only if I get a fat Christmas bonus

Only a few headsets are compatible with both systems. The cost is what convinced me to just buy headphones and a mic. Now with my next paycheck I will finally get the Astro Mixamp ($130), which just became compatible with the PS3 out of the box. Ends up costing nearly as much as the Astro A40 headset, but I get better sound quality.

These are what you'll probably want. I linked to BB because they are the exclusive retailer for now.

Go for it. Good enough to justify the price jump from the AX180 and good enough to not justify the price jump to the AXPro. That's how I figured it until I decided to go another route.

Has anyone tried either of these? I want a headset that i can use for both systems. I have used the cheap XBOX 360 headset, and for the PS3 i used a bluetooth. I'm leaning towards the AX180, but would like to know if it's an upgrade over the ones i have been using. If it's not an upgrade i might have to step up to the AX720. I would also consider other options that could be used for both systems. If suggesting other option's please try to keep them about $100. Thanks for any input.

Sennheiser PC 350 is a pretty good gaming headset. They're $120 on Amazon

Sennheisers always have great sounds. I can vouch for them as I currently have several different ones serving different purposes.

I have a pair of the astro gaming a40's. They were on the expensive side ($275 with mixamp and extra rechargable battery) and they are used by pro gamers, bought em over the summer and work great, has the mixamp that you can make peoples voices go above game volume and its psudo 5.1 surround. Im actually trying to sell them right now as I could really use the extra money with a little one on the way (so if you know anyone that might want them, PM me and lets talk looking at selling them for like $150 or best offer)).

Not unless you have the Astro MixAmp. The PS3 needs a USB for voice chat and the 360 needs a cable that plugs into the controller. Both systems get the system sound through the outputs on the back. With the MixAmp you can use 3.5mm headsets headphones and mics, but it will set you back $130+.
