Default Sony 350 Internet Connection

Anyone have an idea on how I connect my Sony 350 to the internet when the internet connection is in another room, I used a Wirless Gamming adaptor as this has ehternet connection but I still cannot pick up a wireless signal, Why did Sony not release this player like the PS3 (Wireless Connection).....

Why add Wireless connectivity to an entry level player. If that was the case then we'd all be buying the S550 and PS3 for that matter. Cost, Cost, Cost.

Make sure you configure the Gaming Adapter on a PC , and make sure it successfully connects to the Internet before attaching it to your 350.

I have the similar situation and used a long cat5 cable I had. Worked perfectly. You don't have to have it connected to an ethernet connection at all times.

I also have a Linksys WRT54G and used an Apple Express Base Station to extend my wireless network. Plugged the BD player into the Base Station's Ethernet port and it is now connected wirelessly. In addition, the Base Station streams music from my computer to my stereo.

Default Can somebody give me a hint on installation of WET linksys ....????

Dear friends:
I just can not make it!! I have been trying to install the WET wireless but so far, I can not even configurate it in the PC. The machine does not recognise the damm thing and therefor the wizard does not open up. Out of the three small lights 2 are up but the 3rd, concerning the ethernet conn. simply does not work. How could I configure it to use it as a wireless bridge from my Sony Blu ray to to my internet wireless modem?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Enrique

Have you tried resetting the modem? If you didn't, try resetting the modem with the computer off (with the 350 already connected to the modem).
Check the settings on the player.

I just bought a 100 foot Ethernet cable and drilled a whole in my wall and ran around the room. You can't even see it.

Default Powerline alternative

Another alternative to wifi is to use powerline network adapters (i.e., powerline-to-ethernet bridge). These simply plug into a power outlet and have an Ethernet port. You can place one near your router and connect it into your network there and place a 2nd one near your S350 and run a Cat 5 cable to it. However, both power outlets must be running off of the same side our your home's wiring (i.e., the 220v AC into your house has two 110v circuits and both outlets need to be on the same 110v side of the incoming circuit - this will depend on where the two room's circuit breakers are located within the breaker box).

Yeah, the S350 has no wireless support at all, so don't even think wireless, just think about how you will make a physical Ethernet connection, whether it be directly to the wall/cable modem or to a port on your wireless router (which is connected to the wall/cable modem, blah blah)....

I used the linksys wga54g connected to the s350 and receiving the signal from my AT&T wireless modem. I had to make sure to get version 2 so it would support WPA-PSK security settings. I ended up having to disable MAC filtering and enabling the DHCP on the ATT modem. After that, the adapter connected perfectly and hasn't lapsed. The cool thing is that the s350 network diagnostics help troubleshoot your connection.
