Default A Horror Movie with 100% on RT???

I know the same thing happened with Wolverine and look where it ended up, but I just looked into this one and it looks damn good. I might wait for the blu release since it would be strange watching Drag Me to Hell after the release of Up the same weekend.

This film is directed by Sam Raimi. Who in case you didn't know directed the Evil Dead Trilogy (and the Spiderman films of course). The only thing that worries me is that the film is rated PG-13. That has never been a good sign since the Ring.

Yeah, I'm not normally one to squeal when a movie ends up being PG-13 instead of R, but in this case, I think its a valid concern. It's a horror movie for one thing, and the other is that both of the Evil Dead movies were loaded with gratuitous (and ultimately laughable) gore. I'm not sure the same charm can be put into a PG-13 movie but I will still give it a chance. Probably just a rental for me though.

Why does a horror film have to be 'R' rated. You do not need blood and gore to get a scare. Remember, this is not evil dead, Friday 13th, nightmare on elm st Texas chainsaw and all of the other brain dead lets kill the teenagers type film.
Raimi and horror = excellence.

Yeah, I'd wait for more than 6 reviews. Early reviews are notoriously positive. That being said, the trailer looks interesting. Love the beginning with the old woman in the bank.. very creepy!

I didn't say I was giving up on it. I'm just saying that it's different from his old stuff(not that he can't pull it off). I'm also saying that I can't even remember the last time I REALLY enjoyed a horror movie that was only PG-13. If anyone can do it though, it would be Raimi.

besides, the % is not the important number. The overall score underneath it is what should really be looked at.

this movie actually looks like it has potential. it's probably gonna be a really decent horror flick, or a terrible one. I'm concerned though, because they put Justin Long in it.

Certainly horror films don't have to have gore or violence to make it good. There are films that have proven that. But this is a major studio horror flick and as such these types of films have always been formulaic and in the case of a movie like The Unborn just freakin laughable. I'm reserving judgment because Sam Raimi is at the helm not because he has a horror background but because he's a talented director.

I just got a look at those who reviewed it. Mostly horror sites. Now as a hardcore horror fan that's something that can be looked at a good thing especially for a horror film that's rated PG-13. But no top critics have reviewed it yet.

Trailer doesn't make it look like anything special. As for the director didn't he make the POS Spiderman 3?

I know S3 was not all Raimi's fault and it not as bad a film as people make it out to be. With his background and the story being dark it could off, no should off been so much better.

Yeah, even Uwe Boll has made a bad film or two in his illustrious career.
