Default Expensive Speaker Poll

Ok, so you've got the poll to make your choice. The question is, if you had 8-15k (or even 20, I'll throw that into the mix I suppose), which exotic/expensive high end speaker would you choose and why? Would it be solely on performance, or at this price range would aesthetics have a big impact. That being said, let's see what we get. If you choose other, say what. I think I got the majority of them, I may have forgot one or two though.

I like a lot of the Nola Speakers including the Baby Grand and Grand Reference. But, I am waiting to hear the Prototype speakers that I hope to see shortly which are a custom made item.

I will catch hell for this . But I love what i have sound wise on front ! I have to my knowledge never heard A really high end speaker !! when I was looking at speakers & listened to several types & brands , for some reason the BOSTONS just stood way out to me . Maybe listening & upgrading to the next series of BOSTONS at $1,700. each tower for an upgrade , I don't really know !!

You really should listen to some speakers that are more upscale than that. The Nola Speakers that I mentioned I think now sell for about $65,000 and $185,000 respectively.

If I am going to spend over $100,000, I will buy a pair of Genesis 1.1 speakers. Did I say a pair? I apologize, I meant all four. I heard them at an audio show in Los Angeles. I did not want to leave. To make matters worse, they had Wilson speakers in another room. I finally had to leave the hotel because I did not want to sign divorce papers.

I only said listen, not beg, borrow, steal, or lust for. And they do sound really really good as I heard them in December at Lyric Hi Fi.

Intamin,

I guess you're gonna have to raise the alloted budget to at least 300K as Rich and Big Daddy have hit the stratusphere

Well, OK, then the Nola Viper Reference III which I think are now about $15,000 or $16,000; but, they aren't nearly as good as the Nola Baby Grands.

The Homeowners Association will kick you out of your condo. We have a spare room. Bring your million dollar speakers to my house. We don't have an association

I'm afraid to ask how many amps and how many watts each side of that system requires.

In that case, I will have to buy a pair of Martin Logan speakers to better timbre match my $1,800 ML center speaker.

I had absolutely no plans to buy anything. We were out shopping with my wife. After dinner, we walked into a high-end dealer in Orange County, CA. A couple of hours later, two guys put this heavy ML center speaker in my SUV. The strangest thing was that my wife was impressed and completely agreed to this craziness. It appears that we are both crazy.
