my reaction is probably like most -- how dare they!!!

but I'll keep an open mind--

DAWN OF THE DEAD, TEXAS CHAINSAW, AMITYVILLE HORROR, and
several others more than exceeded my expectations so we'll see.

I would also add that if the movie is terrible-- you can simply ignore
it-- the reviews for DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL were so universally
bad that I basically have ignored the fact that the remake exists!

This reboot business is just getting ridiculous. Sure, some movies can stand it, but man it seems like every week there is a reboot announcement. Its bad enough that they didn't leave a solid trilogy alone and put out a fourth completely craptastic movie, but now they want to redo the whole thing. Even if it turns out good its totally unnecessary.

Jessica Biel gets my vote to play Ripley. I can't think of anyone famous other than her to play.

Ideas are running out in Hollywood. Music is the same. Just different notes to the same words. With Ridley and Tony on board do we really have anything to worry about?
