Thinking about getting a used PS3...

I'm about to get a PS3,40g, for around $200.

Questions I have:

I am looking to hook it up to an older reciever which I run DTS through an optical connection. Will I be able to decode BR DTS optically?

Do I need a remote to access all the features, or can I do it through the joystick?

The player is about 7 months old, what is the reliability?

I am primarily buying it for BR movies, but would like to occasionally play some old PS1 and 2 games,can I do that?

I am hooking it up to a projector,component out to VGA in the projector,I assume that can be done,yes?

All in all, is it a good deal for $200?
