Default Game that scared\creeped you out the most

Maybe is just me but I'm finding that most games that are meant to be scary these days are......well.....pretty disappointing.

So I was wondering what was the game that creeped you out the most.

Mine would be either:

Dreamweb - crazy story and imagery and the ending was totally unexpected
Alice - Very disturbing imagery

Also out of recent-ish games Silent Hill 1 and 2.
1 more so but I think I knew what was coming in 2.

Any suggestion out there?

I don't know which game in general I'd pick, but if I picked a single moment it'd be when the dogs jumped through the window when walking down that one hallway in the first Resident Evil.

Rapelay...never even played it. Just heard stories.

I don't wanna have anything to do with that sh!t at alllllllllll.

As far as mainstream stuff goes...I'd have to say Dead Space gets spooky after 2am with that music and the "things" running all around the ducts in my surround system.

Only 2 games have ever creeped me out.

Resident evil and Silent hill 1. Both for the ps1. Not the imagery but the music and sound effects did it. Since then nothing does it.

When I was a kid Friday The 13th (NES) gave me butterflies because Jason always gave a big surprise.

Recently, Resident Evil 5 (PS3) gave me an adrenaline rush because I usually get into the game.

Silent Hill 1:

I still get chills when I point my flashlight down the school hallway and see one of them demon babies walking towards me.

Honoral mention goes to Fatal Frame 1 and 2.

As soon as I read the title this was the first thing I thought of as well. There was a part in Fear 2 where the same thing happened (when you 1st encounter the monsters)

Phantasmagoria, Silent Hill 1 and Resident Evil 1 and 2.

To those who said Fatal Frame. Ive vaguely heard of this, is it a good game besides being scary?

Also, to the OP, i agree, i havent seen a game that has scared me in a long time...

Haha, no way! I didn't know other people remembered that part the same way I did. That's probably the only thing I really remember from playing RE 1 & 2 back in the day.

And agree with the others also on Dead Space with surround sound...creepy for sure. I only rented it, still have to muster the courage to buy it and finish it.
