Generally I find Greenaway's films easier to admire than to love, but this is one of his more approachable ones. I'll have to watch it again though, to see whether I want to upgrade from the DVD.

Oh sheeeeit, more Greenaway in HD. Great arresting visuals in this one that will benefit greatly from 1080p (of course I may as well be talking about any of his films)...look forward to retiring my MGM DVD.

How long will it take them to release "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and Her Lover"?

Greenaway is one of the great masters of filmmaking. when film historians look back on this era he will be one of the few who stands out. I don't think the value or impact of his work has been really appreciated yet.

Well there is this...but hopefully something even better will come down the pike soon.
